Meet the Speakers

Matthew Brennan


Matt Brennan, Chief Investment Strategist, Director of Institutional Investments, Fulton Private Bank

Matt joined Fulton Private Bank and Fulton Financial Advisors in 2014. Prior to his current role as Chief Investment Strategist and Director of Institutional Investments, Matt served as a portfolio manager and senior investment strategist for the firm Whether working with high net worth individuals and families or as the leader of our non-profit services team working with charitable organizations, foundations, and endowments, Matt focuses on helping our team create investment solutions that are tailored to fit the unique circumstances and needs of our clients.

Matt plays an integral role in helping to shape Fulton’s best thinking as it relates to the economy and markets and produces much of the firm’s public analysis and commentary. He is a frequently requested speaker on markets, the economy, and geopolitics. Prior to joining Fulton Financial Advisors, Matt spent three years with F&M Trust Company, where he was an Assistant Vice President in the firm’s Investment and Trust Services department. He started his investment career as a research analyst at Lyster Watson and Co., a hedge fund of funds group based in New York City. Matt was a National Merit Scholarship recipient at the University of Chicago, where he graduated with a B.A. in Political Science. He holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst ® (CFA ®) and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Philadelphia.

Meredith Getachew


Meredith Getachew, Senior Director of Sales, Global Wordsmiths

Meredith Getachew, Senior Director of Sales at Global Wordsmiths, leverages extensive expertise in guiding companies and trade specialists through the complexities of localization, cross-cultural communication, and relationship-building for international market entry and growth. With international experience across Eastern Africa and the Middle East, Meredith is passionate about language accessibility and creating multilingual content. At Global Wordsmiths, a language service provider headquartered in Pennsylvania, Meredith leads a team of dedicated localization and project managers that provide strategic guidance in technical translation, multilingual marketing, content localization, and interpretation services. Her work enables businesses to establish lasting relationships in global markets while upholding rigorous technical and quality standards.

Scott Miller


Scott Miller, Deputy Director Business Development at Harrisburg International Airport

Scott Miller serves as Deputy Director of Business Development and Marketing at Harrisburg International Airport. Scott started at HIA the day before 9/11.  Since then, he’s been trying to figure out what a normal day at an airport is supposed to look like! He and his team collaborate with airport tenants to deliver a comfortable, efficient airport experience from curb to gate.

Shawn Leppo


Shawn K. Leppo, Co-Chair of the McNees Intellectual Property Group

Shawn practices in the Intellectual Property, Patent Division, and International Law Groups. His practice includes all aspects of intellectual property law, with a focus on litigation and counseling. Shawn assists clients in asserting and defending charges of patent, copyright, and trademark infringement in federal courts across the United States and in related mediation proceedings.

Shawn has been named a Rising Star three times by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, in which he actively participates in the Susquehanna Local Section. Shawn regularly speaks and writes on patent and other intellectual property topics of interest and has work has been featured in publications by the PA Legal Intelligencer, JD Supra, and the American Corporate Counsel Association.

Joe Flaim


Joe Flaim, Vice President Sales, International Group at Fulton Bank

Joe Flaim joined Fulton Financial Corporation in 2005 and is currently Vice President, Sales representing Fulton’s international banking products and services throughout Fulton’s five state footprint. Along with Fulton’s FX Traders and Letter of Credit/Trade Specialists, he reviews client’s international transactions and offers solutions to help them expand their business, mitigate risk, and make them more profitable.

Before transitioning to a sales role in 2017, Joe supported customers as a Trade Finance Officer with Fulton. Working within the operations and sales support team, he was responsible for issuing, negotiating, and processing Commercial Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections and Trade Finance Lines of Credit. As an international trade finance subject matter expert, he frequently presents seminars on the subject at local business events.

Prior to joining Fulton Financial Corporation, Joe worked for 15 years as an Ocean Export Manager for two, different Philadelphia area Freight Forwarders. In addition to handling cargo movements, Joe prepared and presented documents to banks for payment under Letters of Credit and Documentary Collections. Joe holds a B.A. in Marketing and a minor in Business Logistics from Penn State University.

Greg Goska


Greg Goska, Vice President – Foreign Exchange Manager at Fulton Bank

Greg Goska is currently the Vice President, Foreign Exchange Manager at Fulton Bank and has been in this role for more than ten years. Greg oversees the FX trading desk and is responsible for foreign exchange risk management products and solutions. Prior to joining Fulton Bank, Greg previously held roles at Susquehanna Bank and Bank of Montreal (BMO) Capital Markets.

Keijo Karjalainen, Dep. Consul General of Finland


Keijo Karjalainen, Deputy Consul General of Finland, Head of Economic and Cultural Affairs and Communications

Mr. Keijo Karjalainen serves as the Deputy Consul General of Finland in New York. Deputy Consul General Karjalainen boasts a distinguished career in foreign service, marked by a series of postings around the world. For instance, he has previously held
positions at the Finnish Embassy in Washington, D.C., the Finnish Embassy in London, and the Permanent Representation of Finland
to the European Union in Brussels.

Beyond his diplomatic engagements, Mr. Karjalainen is a published author with two books to his credit.

Mr. Karjalainen is married and father of two children.
